Edited by: Sever Aldaria on 20/03/2006 03:47:51 I took PVP BASIC yesterday. The reading materials that were provided on the Agony Unleashed forums were mostly about bookmarks and making different instas. Most of it I had already figured out for myself through expirimentation and reading the forums so I skimmed through it. I learned 1 or 2 things I hadn't already figured out. Though I learned much much more once the class started.
At the class, we had a total of 17 pilots all following Rells's directions and learning basic frig fleet movements. At last, we went into 0.0 for some live pvp. Most of the time, it was very intense, very exciting, though you got the feeling that Rells always knew what he was doing, like he always had things under control. We took out a Rupture who's angry corp came after us afterward and almost took out a HAC before he could run away which was acting as bait in a trap set for us. Its not till you see over and over how battleship fleets run away from you that you realize how potentially deadly you can be. Only lost 3 pilots in the total course of the hunt (2 kestrel pilots got picked off because they couldn't keep up with the rest of as they had cap problems and had to take our warps in two warps). But he gave everyone the option of leaving before going on the hunt if they were uncomfortable with the possibility of dieing.
I learned a lot about PVP hands-on, though even if I had already known everything that was taught, the wolfpack hunt was worth the 5 Million isk paid. I'd definately recommend taking this PVP course.
You can read these forums and pick up different things, but the only thing that I had learned from the forums that Rells taught us, was just the pre-class reading materials. Learning by doing however, is a whole 'nother thing. You can read and ask questions about "The Art of War", but thats nothing compared to being out there on the battlefield. You also have someone to ask questions and get answers right then and there.
Rells is a great instructor! Take his PVP BASIC class.
